Committed Benildean becomes a CHIMES Awardee

Benjamin Marasigan, Animation Chair and faculty of the SDA, is recognized as one of the 2009 Lorenzo M. Tañada CHIMES (Common good, Honesty, Integrity, Meritocracy, Excellence, and Service) Awardees. His commitment to teaching excellence, a high level of professionalism, faith and zeal of service has earned him the privilege of being the first CHIMES School Awardee. A mass was offered to all National and School Awardees on December 15, 2009 at the SDA Chapel, while the national awarding ceremonies were held the next day at the De La Salle Philippines.

Let this be the start of our commitment to recognize the noteworthy members of our community who continue to live up to the Lasallian Guiding Principles by doing their work extraordinarily well.

Talk of the Town

Charlene Louise Almarvez is the talk of the modeling world when she was chosen as first runner-up in the Ford Models’ Supermodel of the World finals in Sao Paolo, Brazil. She won a $150,000 modeling contract with Ford Models.

Almarvez is taking up Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Export Management in DLS-CSB.

Blog, Once Again!

Nelson “Blog” Caliguia, Jr.’s animated film Mutya won the grand prize in the Animahenasyon Pinoy Animation Festival. The story revolves around forest spirits or “anitos” and their unlikely friendship with a one-of-a-kind girl. This girl can see the anitos, which are not ordinarily seen by human eyes.

Caliguia is an alumnus of DLS-CSB and took up Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Arts.
